Dealing with Neighbour Voting on Eurovision Song Contest

  1. To take off, I'd like to suggest a topic that would ideally find solutions paving the road to more unbiased voting on the Contest. How, do you reckon, can we deal with the problem of voting not judging by the merits of the songs, but by geographical principle? :-?

I've come up with a simple idea, whose authorship I don't dare claim, as there are smart guys in the EBU who will hopefully make up something soon. As televoting is a huge money machine, which no one can get rid of, perhaps we could keep it adding to the picture national juries. Today we have stand-by juries, whose vote is considered only in case of technical problems during elevoting. How about giving their vote 50% and 50% from televoting to determine the winner? Throughout the years I've noticed that jury and national votes differ a lot.

What is your suggestion? Let's do some brainstorming :)

  2. And the jury doesn't vote politically? hmm... I doubt it.
