  1. As Euro Radio handed its annual awards, which placed the Turkish Eurovision star Kenan Dogulu first in the Best male Artist category, I wonder if his 2007 ESC entry "Shake it Up, Shekerim" will become a summer hit at all. I have listened to it a couple of times on the radio, but I don't believe that such a tune can get to dominate the music air, although I wish Kenan lots of success? What do you think? Which is your favourite Eurovision male artist this year?

Kenan is closely followed by Dmitry Koldun from Belarus and Sarbel, the charming Lebanon-Cypriot eventually representing Greece, who finished sixth and seventh respectively. The prizes are given for the second year running, according to the vote of international listeners of the radio. The awards in this category tend to follow the final top ten order of the three performers (Kenan finished fourth), skipping only the Bulgarian male artists Stoyan Yankoulov (small wonder!)

Kenan works and lives in the US half of the year, and the other half in Turkey, where he has turned his house into a popular music club, frequented by the Turkish party-goers. He successfully works along with his brother who is coproducer of Kenan's eleven albums. Dogulu has worked on a steady basis since the beginning of the 1990s, when he released his first album Yaparım Bilirsin. Kenan is presently working on his next album, which will be a compilation of his most successful songs.
